Sugar Rush
Game made for the SA GAME JAM 2024 #SAGJ2024.
How It Fits the Theme:
With the theme of "Midnight Staircase," where the stakes rise as you progress, I found inspiration in Tekashi's castle door maze concept. Players navigate through a series of doors, each offering a chance to advance—or a setback.
In the game, your objective is to collect sugar bits scattered throughout the map while racing against a timer. Meanwhile, a vending machine adds an extra layer of challenge, pursuing you as you attempt to reach the winning screen.
As a solo developer, I faced the challenge of managing multiple aspects of the project, which at times felt overwhelming. To maintain quality, I focused intently on perfecting the door mechanics and overall gameplay.
I truly hope you enjoy the experience as much as I enjoyed creating it! You can find the controls in the game menu, and pressing "Esc" will pause the game.
Mysterious Doors: Throughout your journey, you'll encounter doors that may or may not let
you pass.
Each time you approach a door:
- Random Outcome: The door will randomly decide whether to open or block your path.
- Strategy Tip: Pay attention to patterns or clues in the environment that might hint at which doors are more likely to open!
Winning the Game:
- Once you reach the top Right corner, you’ll unlock a sweet victory and return to the outisde World to enjoy your sugary reward!
